The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) will investigate Microsoft and Amazon's dealings with AI start-ups.
Almost 50 teams, made up of experts and AI enthusiasts from various companies, industries, and organizations, participated in the first Croatian AI Business Hackathon competition. Thirteen of them qualified for the final presentation of their ideas and some had already finished products.
The teams are InsurCap.ai, JGL Sense the AI, 3 MM Bez Censura - AI Podcast, AI Recover, WoomAI, VerifAI, Cybermind Nexus, Azul, Advjetnik.ai, SwipeSpec, Jaibox, Dell technologies and Vlaji. The jury, consisting of Dražen Kapusta, Aco Momčilović, Domagoj Marić, and Dražen Oreščanin, chose six teams from among those thirteen for an even narrower selection. From sixth to fourth place, it was team Vlaji, JGL Sense the AI, Advjetnik.ai, and the winners of the first three prizes, starting with the third prize, were team VerifAI (€500), Cybermind Nexus (€1500) and the absolute winner of the first AI Business Hackathon: SWIPE SPEC, which won the first prize worth €2500.
"The high quality and variety of presentations – business cases in which solutions based on artificial intelligence technologies are used – marked our first competition in the application of large language tools and machine learning, the AI Business Hackathon", said Aco Momčilović, director of the company FutureHR and organizer of the competition that was supported with financial and other resources by the companies Comping, Dell Technologies, Takeda, Koios, and the Cotrugli business school.
As part of the finals of the AI Business Hackathon competition, a round table of mentors and patrons was held, attended by Alojzije Jukić, director of the Comping company; Nino Surjan, consultant from the company Koios; Darko Jovišić, director and co-owner of the company Robotiq.ai, and Vedran Antoljak, a business consultant who moderated the conversation on the topic "What the teams that participated in the competition did well, and what they could do better." Here we will highlight the impressions of Alojzije Jukić: "I liked the breadth of thinking and the large number of ideas among the participants of the first AI Business Hackathon, and I was especially impressed by the teams that managed to come up with a concrete solution in just one month, products that are practically ready for the market.“
At the round table, the teams were advised on what they could have done better. The panelists advised the teams to pay more attention to the aesthetics of their solutions, work more thoughtfully on scaling the business, work more systematically on finding potential investors, define the return on investment more clearly, pay more attention to legal issues and intellectual property issues, and in general, to the regulation of the industries for which they are trying to design solutions based on artificial intelligence.
