Austrian-based operator A1 Group reported growth in CEE markets while the results were affected by the challenging conditions in its home market. The group reported total revenues rose 2.1% as service revenues recorded a 3.1% growth. EBITDA saw a 5.1% growth.

“We again saw an overall good development in the third quarter. Group total revenues increased by 2.1%, service revenues rose by 3.1%. The growth was strongly driven by Eastern European markets. In Austria, we are facing a very challenging environment which we tackle with a focus on market investments and efficiency measures. Group EBITDA showed a plus of 5.1%. Overall we pursued our strategy in staying relevant for our customers, resulting in a solid growth performance in the third quarter. However, the net result is lower due to higher D&A for towers,” said Alejandro Plater, CEO of A1 Group.

“In mobile communications, the number of customers rose by 6.1% (subscribers) driven by M2M. In the fixed-line business, the number of customers slightly increased by 0.7% year-on-year (RGUs) driven by broadband internet and TV demand. We also announced that A1 Serbia is becoming convergent as the last market within A1 Group. With the acquisition of Conexio Metro, we will be able to expand our footprint and offer convergent products on our own fiber network for our customers in 2025. Our ESG ambitions were awarded by EcoVadis with a gold medal, putting us among the top 3% of all participating companies,” added Thomas Arnoldner, Deputy CEO of A1 Group.
