Nokia Reported Profits Drop in 1Q25
Nokia reported that its first-quarter net sales declined 1% to €4.4 billion.
Nokia won 6 Red Dot Awards and 8 iF Awards including a ‘Best of the Best’ distinction from Red Dot for its Networks Sustainable Packaging System. The packaging uses organic, biodegradable material, and reduces cost and waste.
The Red Dot jury acknowledged the simple, durable, modular, and smart design, praising the packaging solution for minimizing landfill waste and environmental impact by utilizing 100% recycled fiber-based solutions as alternatives to foam and plastics, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions due to less trash being burnt or ending up in the ocean.
The ‘Best of Best’ distinction is the highest accolade that can be received by the Red Dot Product Design Award and is limited to 100 products from more than 17,000 entries. In addition to the packaging solution award, Red Dot and iF recognized Nokia’s broadband products including its 5G Gateway and WiFi app for controlling home networks, and a toolkit for designing next-generation digital products and experiences.
“The Red Dot and iF Design Awards are two of the world’s largest and most prestigious design competitions. For decades, recognition from these award bodies is universally regarded as one of the most sought-after accolades that design studios can receive. We’re extremely proud to announce that in 2022 we have, again, been recognized for our product design by Red Dot and iF Awards juries,“ said Axel Meyer, Head of Nokia Product Design.
